Equine Assisted Therapy

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is done at our center in a private covered arena, with the use of horse(s) an Equine Specialist and a Mental Health Professional. Sessions can be completed in groups or individually, based on the need and the issue that is being addressed. Those who are unresponsive to traditional therapy have found horses to be beneficial when dealing with a multitude of issues. It is important to note that all of our work is done completely from the ground with no riding involved.

How E.A.P. Works

It's a combined use of horse(s), a licensed therapist or counselor and an equine specialist who work with clients to address a number of psychotherapy treatment needs. This unique method may enable clients to learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and then processing or discussing feelings, behaviors and patterns. Due to the immediate feedback the horses provide, therapeutic results may begin immediately.

E.A.P. is available for all ages and stages in life; no prior horse experience is necessary and no riding is involved. All activities are done from the ground and it is completed in a controlled and safe area. This work is done in a private setting and can be done one-on-one or in groups.
